I was saddened to read in my copy of Tiger Talk the death of Ray Hawkes....
Ray ran the past players and officials for years down at the Bay and was a great loyal club servant.
He played numerous 2s games and playe 2 league games for us in 1949.
RIP Ray, you were a great bloke.

From Barrie's Corner on the NAFC website.
It is with deep regret that we record the passing of one of our past players and Club Champion, Donald West, aged 89 years.
Don played 75 games for the Roosters between 1938 - 1947, and of course missed 3 seasons because of the Second World War.
He played 11 games during his debut year and won the Club's Award for the Most Effective player that same year.
In 1941, Don won the Club's Reserves Fairest and Best Award and in 1945 he won the League Fairest and Best Award. I would suggest probably the only player to have achieved this unique double at our Club.
In 1945 {after the resumption of the League competition, post WW2}, Don gained the most Magarey Medal votes by a North Adelaide League player and in season 1947 he was adjudged the North Adelaide League side's Most Consistent player.
During his career Don was one of the fortunate ones to have played in the same Rooster team as the Great Ken Farmer and also played State Football for South Australia. Don also had a long and very valued association with the Kilburn Football Club.
Our Club wishes to extend its deepest sympathy to Don's two immediate descendants, Christine and Don and their immediate families.
Farewell to a Club Champion and to a Champion gentleman.

Past Official at SAFC Snow Fischer died in early January 2006 (about the 7th I think), aged 91. There was an obit on their website at the time. He gave 42 years of consecutive service to the club and was a life member.
Not sure if you record officials or not.....

Thanks for the heads-up Centurion
When I go to the State Library Next I'll check the Advertiser and get the middle name and death particulars. I had only a limited amount o nfo on the late Mr Ramshaw:
Perth F.C 1962-63, 1965-73 176gms
Fitzroy 1964 6games 4 goals
Centrals 1974
Born 7/08/1945
Can you confirm his death in S.Aust? It seems Messr Ramshaw was well travelled

Mark
