Phil Smith?

Postby Conrad Gates » Mon Aug 17, 2009 5:08 pm

G'day guys,

I was wondering if someone (spelly perhaps) could enlighten me as to the SANFL career of Phil Smith? Played for Centrals/Port, I would say 70's?

Cheers,

Adelaide Hawk would be better with this, however, I don't know of a Phil Smith to play for Central, and the Phil Smith that played for Port did so between 2000 and 2004.

Phil Smith played for Woodville. He played 17 games, kicked 53 goals and won Woodville's goalkicking award that season.

He booted 9 at Alberton one day in a losing side. Previously played 12 games for Geelong before becoming a premiership player at West Perth in 1971. His one year at Woodville was in 1974. Interestingly, he was the WAFL leading goalkicker the season before - it must have been a coup for the lowly Peckers to get him.
