biggest turnaround in consecutive matches

Postby dedja » Tue Jun 16, 2009 9:31 pm

Apologise if this been asked before, but as this crazy season continues with large unexpected winning and losing margins such as Sturt beating Central by 85 points, only to lose to North by 89 points the next round for a 174 point turnaround ... what is the greatest turnaround for any club in consecutive matches?

My stab in the dark is Central in 1975 either the week before or after the 238 point loss to Glenelg.

Spelly, are you up for the challenge?
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

I did this in 2007, there hasn't been any greater than the records since then.

Incidentally, we lost the week before the big loss to Port by 8, and lost the week after by about 50.

I reckon if the Round 17 score line was incredible enough, the following weeks looked like this:

Rd 17 Glenelg 49.23 Central 11.13
Rd 18 Sturt 13.23 Central 11.13

The exact same scoreline except Sturt kicked 36 goals less.
