Who remembers attending these, running from the 60's until the late 80's? I went twice, both being held at Max Basheer Reserve in 1983 and 1984. Can't remember too many of the players that were there, although Dean Mobbs was one. Great initiative by Nine at the time and many of my schoolfriends at the time also attended.

I don't know if it was the official Ch 9 one but my brother and did a Football School thing at Elizabeth Oval, during school holidays.

I remember Peter Krieg, Steven Trigg, Phil Graham, Peter Bubner being some of the "teachers". We did the usual junior footy training drills.

My brother decided to call an overweight kid "Wilbur Wilson" and was promptly sent for a lap of Elizabeth Oval as punishment  .... imagine a little 8 year old trotting around Eliz Oval on his own.

Around early 1980s

every league club runs coaching clinincs 3 times a year during the school holidays these days, depending on the different clubs they last for 2 or 3 days for about 3 hours per day

I remember the Channel 9 Football Coaching School well. You got a patch which you got your mum to sew on to your guernsey. I went a few years in the early 70's in the North Parklands and was coached by, amongst others, Bucky Cunningham and Fabulous Phil Carman! :D

It never got any smaller for me, still hated running laps until the day I stopped playing out there. Only to head back to Salisbury to run laps, not much smaller!

Pie and pastie nights were fantastic, they should still have them I reckon.
