I only read the Ron Kneebone section of Knuckles II yesterday and it stated 64-65. I've been worried about that book as I've been reading it....

The first book Knuckles had a lot of factual errors. In Knuckles II they apologised for all the errors, and then went on to make a hell of a lot more. Those books were interesting, well written, but not well researched and a little annoying to football historians.

Unfortunately, the author of the books was in poor health at the time, so this may account for it.

Ron Kneebone captained Norwood in 63 and 64. Haydn Bunton took over as captain coach in 1965.

RR also kicked North's first goal in the '72 GF however that was not the first goal of the game.
