Just wondering if anyone has any information on the radio career of Ken Cunningham? When did he start commentating on SANFL footy? Which radio station gave him his start and which stations has he been on since then?

I think KG started at DN in around 77.
Him and Hookes started at AA, i would say, early 90's.

Nope, way earlier than that, I did work experience with them in 1990 and I won a clock radio in a footy quiz they held at the market in 1988. I remember because my brother was still a baby..

KG retired from umpiring at the end of the 1967 season and certainly didn't go straight into umpiring. He played Sheffield cricket up to the 1973-74 season. He was a panelist on Channel 9s Sunday morning footy show and went into the pub business with Noel Teasdale. I know he was part-owner of the Carrington Hotel. He didn't start in radio until well after he gave up umpiring.

That's a pity. As a Norwood supporter they were 8 seasons which were the most exciting for me. To see us rise from wooden spooners in 1968 to premiers in 1975 was great

He then claimed that in the 80s when at DN, he was offered $5 million to break contract and sign to AA for 3 years which he turned down at the time!

IIRC KG and Pearce where on 5DN and Ian Aitkin and Hookesy were on 5AA in 1990. Then in late 1990 5DN stopped braodcasting on 972 AM band and went over to FM and became a music station X 102.3....
I don't know if Aitkin got shafted or what but KG and Hookesy started to do the sports show on 5AA in between race calls in 1991...
