I assume this is probably the best forum for this. I posted the following message on the Legs forum but as the guy said it applies to all clubs I thought that might be of interest to others who collect or have some club memorabilia.

...something that came up on 5aa during the week might be of interest to anyone with Norwood memorabilia tucked away.

Bob Francis has a coin/medal dealer on his show sometimes and a guy phoned in asking about Norwood members badges. Apparently those from the 1920's would be worth approx $200-300 each and the 1930's about the same. Didn't go into details on any other decades but thought the info might be useful and an incentive to take care of any Norwood goodies you guy might have.

Some badges are worth more than others depending on how many were forged in a given season, and also premiership badges are worth a little more than others. Badges in the 1930s may be worth a fair bit due to the depression.

As in all things it is the rarity of the object, as well as the condition that determines the value, ie the 1930 Penny.

A lot of people collect membership badges. I never have, I tend to concentrate more on cards, football budgets, bottle tops, etc.

Quite right. I think that there are plenty of people who have SANFL memorabilia stashed away in sheds, cellars, basements etc, who when the time comes to clean it out, wouldn't give a second thought to ditch it.

Totally agree. No matter how insignificant something might seem it's still part of a club/players history.

Obviously condition, rarity will affect value but if anyone has stuff they don't want another option might be to offer it to the respective club or ask around the supporters...but please don't assume that just because you don't want it others won't either.

I'm a 'members badge tragic'.

I've got every known year 1919 onwards (Sturt) except 1936 & 1947. If anyone has either of these two I'd love to swap/trade/buy etc etc.

Also looking for any sturt/south war years items.

Still going through the shed full of Centrals memorabilia we discovered cleaning out my grandfathers shed after he passed away. Some amazing stuff amongst it. I'm unsur why he had a bin, never used it.
