If you've had no joy with the club I'd try going to the Port board on Big Footy and asking there. A few of the posters on that board will have copies.

This comes up regularly but we never seem to get to the bottom of how supporters can legally get copies of these old matches on DVD

Yet, Simply Footy still seem to be able to produce old SANFL footage at will :?

It's a major frustration of mine when you can go online and buy every AFL/VFL grand final of the last 40 years. I think the SANFL need to get their historical act together on this issue otherwise all we will have to remember the SANFL by are blurry DVDs or YouTube footage copied from people's VHS copies off the TV at the time.

I have been able to get copies of 85, 86 and 87 grand finals from NAFC and GFC but even these are obviously copied from someone's VHS tape from the 80s.
In between signatures .....

A decade ago I bought the 73 and 86 GFs on VHS from the SA Video Warehouse across the road from Stormy's  on ... umm... Waymouth St? They had a number of the Grand Finals from the 70s and 80s, and some compilation videos like Tigers 83 and Tigers 85 too. I have no idea if the shop is still there (it did change name at some point); it may since have folded?

Once again guys thanks for your help in trying to track down old copies etc, wouldnt you think the SANFL would have copies of all finals and particularily Grand finals for sale, you would think there would be quite a demand............
sounds like they are missing out on a gold mine, especially from Old Port Supporters trying to relive the glory days............

Is there anything we can do about this? I mean if everyone here e-mails/contacts someone voicing interest, surely it can't hurt

Maybe we can ask ABC2 to play them late at night?
