Another Footy Book on the way in 2006

I've noticed that Wedgie and others have been singing the praises of the Pound For Pound Ken Eustice book and I fully endorse their comments - that book is one of the most entertaining and informative books I've ever read - for everyone not just footy fans. I can now announce to the world on behalf of that same author Peter Cornwall, that he is well on track to release the Len Fitzgerald Story during 2006. This book will be a superb read of VFL footy in the 50s, an inside look at Collingwood FC, Jock Mchale, playing for Sturt in the 50s and 60s, SANFL state teams of that era and a host of thoughts on many of the famous SA & VIC footy names from that era. You know about the quality of the Eustice book - expect the Fitzgerald book to be just as good. But while you're waiting for the Fitzgerald book, go buy the Eustice book - in my opinion it is the best SA book ever for its genre.

Excellent, thanks for that rd, actually whilst reading both the Bob Hank and Ken Eustice books got me thinking that one on Len Fitzgerald would be a good idea.
Can't wait for that one!

A book was planned about Sturt's 2002 season, Bali and the aftermath.

I know this because my lecturer was approached to write it but other commitments meant he had to turn it down.

Not sure what happened after that but it would seem that the project didn't go ahead.

Even more so, an update to The South Australian football Story, by Bernard Whimpress, have we seen a more revolutionary 25 years in the history of the SANFL?

Dion Hayman did an updated version a year or so back, but it was only available through mail order.

Still to this day the best book ever written on the SANFL - Absolutely brilliant.
I naively thought someone might write a book for the 125th anniversary, but unfortunately no. At least we got a 20 page lifout in The Sunday Mail (by my reckoning that's one page for every 6.25 years - and half that was advertising!)

Dion Hayman's update couldn't have been very well advertised, I never even knew it existed.

It wasn't, I only found out online.
