mark thomas...west torrens & st.kilda

i went to school with mark thomas & he played league footy for west torrens while still at school (about 1979-1981) & i think he went to st kilda (at least they spoke to him, i know that) but i was wondering whatever happened to him as he didn't seem to play football for that long, so does anyone know ? he was a blonde haired lad at school

From that fantastic book by John Storer, Thomas played 4 matches in 1981:
Rd 18: 1 goal 2 behinds
Rd 19: 2.0
Rd 20: 1.0
Rd 21: 0.0
He was then injured in Round 22. As far as I know, he didn't play for St.Kilda.

thanks spelly, i wondered what ever happened to him as he was a class athlete at school every sport he did he excelled at

Salesians... Played cricket against them, they wore black socks and had knives tucked in them.

nah not blacksocks but blackbelts to hold up the trousers & the knives stuck inside them

I wasn't kidding. Black socks with cricket whites and knives in the socks. They might have been in a different year to you?

A fellow Salesian student here, and in Mark Thomas's year! I don't recall the knives - except the ones in the back from Fr. Breen!
