Reckon Wedgie's right for 05, and Mr66 for 04.

Remember that West and South game in '91 which got 22+. Was a top atmosphere because no one thought those teams would get that sort of crowd. There was an article in the Advertiser the day before with the heading like "C'mon SA, show us you care" comparing the SANFL with the WAFL. Was almost a full page, and in a pretty prominent spot. Can you imagine that now?

Looking at the GF crowds, it almost proves a theory I have at why GF crowds are low lately. (Treating Wedgies figures as gospel)
It has little to do with Eagles low supporter base. Its to do with the same teams contesting the GF.

Norwood and Port contested the GF in 97 and 99, with 1999 a crowd approx 5000 less.

On a carp day last Sunday, the crowd figure almost matched last years week 1 finals figure which was a good day. Why?? Coz the bays are in their first finals series this decade.

One reason why I am against a move of the SANFL GF to Adel Oval.

Good to see the best Semi crowds since 2001 today. You would think every single one of those that went today will be back for more after the games today.

No offence meant CD but if the Eagles weren't there and Sturt, Norwood or Port were it would have been nigh 20k.
Irrelevent I know as they weren't there but its been great the way the North, Central, Glenelg and Sturt fans have rocked up to the finals.
