But didn't he try to play with Glenelg briefly on return?

In between clubs he tried to play for us and then got drafted to Sydney??

When he came back he went straight to Port.....IIRC he came back at teh end of 96 or 97 and the Stringers were in charge - his old man didn't want him playing under the stringers so off to Port.

The Stringers cost Glenelg the Motlops.....

Was there an issue between the Stringers and Mark Motlop (who i believe is the uncle of Shannon and Daniel), dating back from the mid 80's?

No real issue, just that when Eddie (Marks brother) wanted advice on were Daniel and Shannon should play it ws out of Glenelg and North. McDermott is the better bloke and in MArks eyes a better coach so off they went to North, along with Marks kids Aaron and Thomas. Funny how EJ CUbillo is long time player at Wanderers and a Mate of Marks....hmm where does Josh play?

BAsically the appointment of the Stringers in 1997 has cost us 5 senior players. North fans who critices McDermott to the cows come home sometimes the forget the lingering influence of Bone and the players from the NT who play there because of his mateship with Mark Motlop.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Andrew Jarman and David Payne were also past scholars before my time

Both of Gilles Plains High later called Windsor Gardens High

I went to primary school and played in the same team as Glenn Molloy son of Stephen Molloy - Glenn played for Norwood and Melbourne. Absolute gun at age 11 - Fairview Park Primary

Where is/was Fairview Park Primary Hondo? I knew there was a Banksia Park & a Surrey Downs Primary.

Basically in between the two

If you visualise Grenfell Road and Hancock Road crossing each other to make a 4 square box

North East box = Fairview Park
South East box = Banksia Park
North West box = Surrey Downs
South West box - Ridgehaven
In between signatures .....

yes they did, I currently play for an OS side and have heard tales of absolute baths being given out by those three not to mention the other 18 blokes who were pretty handy also

The cornses didnt play in the same team.

correct they didnt. Kane and Pavlich did in '99 tho. Chad graduated in 1996 (Kane in 2000) and in that team were Gallagher, Paul Evans, Fosdike, A Shattock. Chad played mostly seconds footy in Yr 11, but did manage to kick 90 odd goals in Year 12. Paul Evans was the big star back then for SHC.

And Robert Morrell (son of "Big Bob") who played a bit for Torrens in the early 80's. Abernethy left at the end of 1977 and went to Woodville(?) High.
