Jumping the fence with 100 other kids to copy the goal umpires, goal signal.

Also during a Central Port match at Elizabeth Oval around 94-96 sitting on the inside of the outer wing fence with heaps of kids in the final minutes of a game which Central won by less than a goal. When the siren went we all were in the middle of the celebrations with the players, there would have been 50-100 kids there.

If anyone has the score and details from the Central/Port game im thinking of it would be greatley appreciated.

Rd 10 1994 C.D 12.16 P.A 8.11, 4240
Rd 14 1995 C.D 17.10 P.A 6.7, 8243
Rd 20 1996 C.D 14.10 P.A 13.6, 7408

Rd 6 1999 P.A 12.13 C.D 6.12, 4174

Incidentally, a sign of how good Centrals play at Elizabeth is that the score of 26.12 (168) in 1990 is the equal highest kicked against Central at Elizabeth. By that I mean, it's only 168 points. West Torrens scored 25.18 (168) in 1980.

There were plenty of those around. Each year Port won the flag you'd have to listen to all the gloating from people who weren't members and never went to games! Could never quite understand that :)

Those same people were then diehard Chicago Bulls and now Manchester United.

Found this picture as well, which when taken was too early for me to remember ( I clearly remember Trevor SIms), might hold something special for some of the north lads on here.

1986 over Scott Lee. I was on the hill just behind it. I saw Ant running in and said to my mate "Oh no I think Ant's gonna clock Lee" next second there was this collective "****" from the crowd :D
Was the best mark i'd seen live until some bloke called Burton ;) at Princes Park in 1999.

Coming in to land, he got caught on the Northern (?) stand and tangled in his parachute.

Wasn't he dangling from the stand while people furiously tried to free him?

IIRC, the poor sod choked to death...

Yes Maggie, you are almost correct.

Obviously, there was no Northern Stand back then.

He hit the roof edge of the concourse in the North Western Corner of the ground.

If you were there, you will remember it was a Windy & Rainy Night, only a small crowd of about 13,000 (from memory), very unsuitable for parashuting - one would have thought!!

He DID infact hang himself on the shute cords, terrible occurance.
Very surprising that the match went ahead... if my memory serves me correctly, he was still hanging there as the game got underway!!

From the 'tiser, 25 October 1986, edited a bit:

A skydiver in the Foster's Display Team died last
night after crashing into a concrete grandstand at Football Park.
(a Melbourne parachutist, 30) was taken to QEH and died shortly afterwards.
He was the third skydiver to enter the arena before last night's third composite football
Test match between Australia and Ireland.
He appeared to be thrown against a section of the concrete
stand at the north-eastern pocket by the strong south-westerly.

This is the start of that same match, and you can't tell from that anything went on. It seems rather disrespectful if the game started on time; at the very least it should have been delayed.
