Players who played before 1907

The Power from Port site only lists Lewis T Corston. However in 1897 a Nicky Corston played for Port, at least to 1903. There was a Lewis Corston for WT in 1897 -1898 and a Corston for NA in 1900 and then Lewis T Corston for Port , from 1906-08 . How many different players are we talking about. Obviously the 1897 versions have to be different players.

just a question on accuracy of stats. John Storer has WT play WA 3 times in 1899( rounds 8,9,11). The WA book Blood Sweat and Tears? only has WA/WT results twice in 1899( WA 9-9 WT 6-3 and WA 3-4 WT 3-9) which would seem to equate to rounds 9,11) and has results for all 14 games played by WA that year. So is there a mistake with one of the WT opponents in Storer's book for 1899.( perhaps round

Can anyone help with any match details between 1897-1906 as I don’t get to State Library very often. Looking for match result, players in teams, goal scorers , best players, date and Oval and perhaps umpire. To start with I will show what I have for round 1 1897.

Retrospective Magarey Medal 1897
The Register says the three outstanding players were
A Hosie (Port)
P Kekwick (South)
S Reedman ( South)

A Green was awarded it in 1898.
Wonder what the 1900 and 1904 paper says re outstanding players. The idea of retrospective awards is topical as per the SANFL Media Guide.
