Favourite Glenelg Player

Anything to do with the history of the SANFL

I'd forgotten Paul Weston .. I always rated him as a player and the way he went about things, even though he broke my 10yr old heart at Footy Park in 1982 (only lasted a few months thankfully).

He would definitely be up there with my favourite Bays players ... Henwood was another I would have gladly had at Norwood.

We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

I hate Glenelg with a passion (but respected them.. ;) ), but have to agree that David Marshall was a class act, both for Glenelg and as a mature-aged player at The Crows in their early years.

S.Kernahan and A.Hall were great players, both in the SANFL and VFL/AFL. Never forget Hall's knee injury on a quagmire-of-an-MCG during the '89 State of Origin match vs the Big V - brought down by his team mate, Andy Collins from behind. Truly sickening. :ymsick: The enduring image of him clutching his knee and screaming in pain will stick in my memory forever.. :(

John Fidge was great comedy value (an absolute NUTTER!!) and Wayne Stringer is a TOP bloke! ;)

Can't answer. It's like asking "who is your favourite child".

Kernahan, Carey, Weston, Cornes, Hodgeman, Copping, Marshall, McDermott, McGuinness, Lunnis, Twelftree, Caldwell, Holst, Lihou, Seebohm, Walter, Kuhlmann, Sewer, Rady, McKay, Thompson, Viska, Chigwidden, Fidge, Kirkby, Grima, Allen, Cranston ...

Kernahan, Marshall and Carey for mine.

The way it was 84 video showed me these 3 as a young lad. Kernas on the way up (kicking 10 in state of origin), marshall and that raking left foot of his and the big super just taking marks over his mint sized opponents!
