Yep. From memory Collingwood pinched him at the same time they pinched Troy Lehmann. Shayne then quit football for baseball before playing any league footy with them. RM is that right?

Thats correct LL.

Leaping Lindner, did Lloyd Heylen also play for Sturt? I have a fair idea he did, but just to make sure, I'll ask you.

The Lloyd Heylen I have for Sturt played in 1939, missed 1940 and played from 1941-43.

S_C
I have Lloyd F. Heylen as playing 11 matches and kicking 4 goals for North in 1946, so the time frame is about right but I am not 100% certain it's the same player.

This is him I'd think. Interesting middle name. Going by his date of birth no doubt it was given in a fit of patroitism (and his first name possibly come to think of it).

Quite intersting. I often wonder how many SANFL players served during WW1, WW2, Korea and Vietnam in total.

Was talking to an old acquaintance at the footy on Sunday. Have known him since I was a kid. Found out he played 2 league games for North Adelaide. Checked my records and there he was C E Burrett 1945-46 2 games. I know him as Eric Burrett and he is not on your list but is on Mark Beswick's list in State Library.

Can anyone tell me if there were two McNamara players for NA in 1931-35 period. Was there a C McNamara for 5 games in 1931 and then Thomas P McNamara from 1932-35 (or is it the one player only). Also in 1924-5 for 5 games is it John Walker or Wallace. Thanks.

Southern fan I have listed.....
Thomas Percival McNamara (1931-35) 51 Games / 6 Goals - no other McNamaras from that period listed

and..

John A. Wallace (1924-25) 5 Games / 2 Goals - the only Walker I have listed played in the 1970s
