RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Tony Symonds, Mark Donovan, Peter Maynard - hard to hate friends even if they played for a club who have beaten North in 3 of their 4 flags!

Chris McDermott is my all time favourite player from any team

Peter Carey is next in line

I rate Stephen Copping & Paul Weston pretty highly too

Stephen Copping was a great player. I'm not sure if I saw Weston at his best, but I tend to remember him as being a little over rated.

Kevin Sheedy put Weston in his best ever Essendon Team.
He played in 2 premierships at Essendon, plus a losing one too.
Sheedy can't speak highly enough about him.

I remember Paul Weston as a great Captain & Leader, who always played well, even when we were losing. I don't remember him playing a bad State game either.

I could understand him accepting Player Coach at West Torrens when he returned to Adelaide from VFL, but couldn't believe a long time Captain of Glenelg would go to Norwood when he stopped coaching, to became a player again

Yeah i guess it was his time at Torrens and Norwood that sticks out. Admittedly he did play a fairly big part in a premiership with the Bombers which I can recall.

At least you recall that he played with Norwood. Cornesy and KG had him on their "where are they now?" segment. They talked about his time at Glenelg, Essendon, West Torrens, and then talked about life after football.

I sent Cornesy an email asking why he never mentioned his season at Norwood. Cornesy said he never played at Norwood. I replied saying he played the entire 1989 season with the Legs. Cornes was astounded and said he didn't realise he'd played there.

I responded and said, "He played 4 times against Glenelg that season". I went on to ask Cornesy, "What sort of coach were you? Weston played 4 matches against Glenelg that year and you didn't even know he was in the team!!". :)

I thought Weston was quite a way past his best during his year at Norwood.
