IIRC he kicked 5 and looked alright (wore no. 26 I think) but we didn't see or hear a lot more from him.

This one has me puzzled. Our first games for points at Footy Park in 1984 was against Sturt. I looked up the team in that match and the only 1st game players were Rodney Maynard, Craig Kelly, and David Dickinson.
As for kicking 5 goals on debut, we've only had 7 players do that in the club's history. Jo Ahmat did it against Glenelg at Football Park in 1983. He wore number 52 that day. Could that be who you are thinking of? If it is, he went to WA and played over 80 games with Swan Districts and Claremont.
The player who wore 26 against Port in 1984 was Stephen McCarthy, and he kicked 3 goals. He was recruited from Melbourne, played little football with Norwood and transfered to West Torrens where he did very little more.

Sorry mate, Ive just realised my error .. I meant to say the "first footy park game under lights for premiership points" .. My bad.
Stephen McCarthy was the bloke I was thinking of, not sure why I thought he kicked 5, the ol memory aint what is used to be
One thing that still bugs me from that game is that I can't work out whether it was Tommy Warhurst or David Dickinson who got the belt in on Dwayne Russell - Either way it was a good result

I don't recall him doing a lot more than that!

He had been out with North with very limited success, he was playing for Broadview in the amateur league in late July, 1960. North needed a second rover. They asked Potts to return. He played the last couple of minor round games, the second semi and then kicked 7 goals in a b.o.g. performance with the roosters, in a game they only won by 5 points. He remained at North for another couple of years but never again reached any heights at all.
A great irony of his Grand Final performance was that it was against Norwood, the team that had his uncle, the legendary "Tiger" Potts as head trainer.

Possibly not, as he played a deal of league football over a career spanning 6 seasons at Sturt, but people remember him as the player who kicked 10 goals against West at Richmond and was dropped to make way for Emmy Jones the following week.

This is before my time, but did something similar happen with a Port player - Neil Hawke I think? Kicked a bag of goals, then dropped. Then move to Western Australia and returned to the SANFL to play with West Torrens..?

Adam Richardson.
And no, not the big tatooed, burley FF that played for West Adelaide and about 3 games for the Crows.
The Central Adam Richardson came from Port Adelaide Magpies I think. Had a good year in 1994 as the leading goal kicker for the club.
Can't remember if he played in 1995 or not, I think Grant Coffee being the other full forward in the side pushed him out.
I always wondered where Richo ended up, I'll have to ask Grant Coffee tomorrow night when I see him.
Richardson was famous for his long run up, that's for certain. If he took a mark at the top of the goal square, his run up would almost be back at the 50m arc, no kidding !!
I think the famous Central fanzine (BM) mocked him on one of their front covers once as well !!!
