He certainly played in the WAFL (South Freo?) before coming to Woodville, but not sure whether he was picked up from there or Darwin.

Kevin Taylor was the leading WANFL goalkicker in 1979. He booted 107 playing as a rover for East Fremantle in a premiership season. A very exciting left footer and good at selling the dummy to opponents.

He switched to Swan Districts in 1986 in a trade for Gerard Neesham but never really shone for Swans.
It must have been around 1988 that he went to Torrens.

One of the most selfish players to ever pull on a jumper in the SANFL - but came from The Rovers in Pt Hedland before his Woodville stint. Started his career at South Fremantle.

Max George returned to Central in 1981. Had kicked a fair few here in a short time before going back to WA, then returning here in '81.

Pretty sure Kevin Taylor is the only rover to kick 100 goals at league level...

Never forget the Ken Farmer Medal 'shootout' at Elizabeth, round 22, 1989.

Only a goal or two separated Jakovich and Rudi Mandemaker going into the last game. With Woodville's season over, Jako was gunning for the medal.

Funniest bit for me... Early in the first quarter, Darrell Panizza's running into an open goal, screaming for the ball. Unfortunately, the ball was in Jako's hands.

Under pressure, Jako snaps over his shoulder from about 35-40m out. Of course, he sprays it. Panizza gives him an almighty serve.

IIRC, this went on for four quarters. To no avail because Rudi won the Ken Farmer...

I think you're right. The next best would be Leigh Matthews at Hawthorn in 1977 with 91 goals.

From memory Steve Malaxos kicked a heap of goals one year - not sure whether he was classed as a rover?

Nah, Malaxos was a half forward, occasional ruck rover.

That's interesting about Stasinowsky. I didn't realise he played in the SANFL. He was ginger-haired livewire half forward who played for West Perth in the late 70's and early 80's before switching to South Fremantle.

Sadly he committed suicide in the late 1980's (1988 I think).

I met the WP historian a few weeks ago who had some fascinating stories about Stasinowsky, and the reason he killed himself. And to reply to another post, David Morgan came from Swan Districts before heading to South Adelaide. We werent happy when he went to East Fremantle when he returned from South Australia.

Ive found 2 Football Times yearbooks from 1991 and 1992 and can add the following names to the list:
John O'Sullivan (East Fremantle-Central District)
Stephen Rowe (South Fremantle- Norwood)
Craig Binder (West Perth-Norwood)

You could also add Robbie West (West Perth-Port Adelaide), and Kingsley Walker (Swan Districts-North Adelaide)

Nowerman my missus worked with Dave's missus and were good mates. I know he went back to play with his brother at East Freo and I wonder where he ended up? Seems like within two years at East Freo Dave was gone.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Stephen Rowe grew up in Norwood, he was just coming home :)

I didn't realise Craig Binder was from West Perth, does anyone know if he played league football with them?

After finishing at East Fremantle, he played a year with his brother Jason at Mundijong in the Peel Football League. Swan Districts cleared Jason to East Fremantle at the end of 1999, and it came back to bite them on the bum when David returned.
