1946 is when the 20th man was first used, not too sure about the 19th man.

1943-44 North/Norwood (19 games, 16 goals)
1945 North Adelaide (1 game, 0 goals)

Cheers Hawk that is a big help. You don't by chance have the details of games that Bill Isaac played apart from N-NA do you?

Kenneth Searle was my Grandfather. To my knowledge he did not play for Torrens/Port in '42. He certainly played for Torrens in '45, I have a very damaged picture of the 1945 Torrens team with him in it.

This is interesting. Do you know what is middle name was? I found 2 players named Kenneth Searle around that era. One player named Kenneth Norman Searle playing 35 games for South Adelaide in 1940 and from 1946-46. The other I have listed as playing 2 games for West Torrens in 1945.

There was also another Searle at this time, Cecil Carl Searle who played 3 games for West Torrens in 1941.

Thanks yet again Hawk big help. For some reason I had it in my head he was quite young when he played at N-NA but it seems he was nearing the end of his career.

Ok, this is a few things I found off the list of Norwood players poster:

Player no. 694 - A.L Hill - I don't have on the main players list yet, nor what I got out of "The Men of Norwood"
Player no. 695 - A Stone - same
Player no. 696 - G.H Dillon - ditto

These four players I could not find on the poster:

Victor Cresdee (1907-09), 7 games
William Juniper (1909), 6 games
William Noal (1921), 1 game
(Going a bit off the thread topic, though)

Frederick Bennett (1941), 6 games

I'm aware of the errors on that poster and have been working through Norwood's playing records.

You are correct, Cresdee, Juniper, Noal and Bennett did not appear on the poster but played games for Norwood. Juniper only played 4 games, not 6.

A.L.Hill played 3 games in 1944 for Norwood-North. I think his name was Andrew.
A.Stone played 1 game for Norwood North in 1944
G.H. "Herbert" Dillon played 3 games for Norwood-North on 1944

None of those 3 played for Norwood.

So would that mean that those three were registered with Norwood and not North? Or the other way around?

My guess is they were registered Norwood players, but you'd need to ask Leaping Lindner if they played for North Adelaide.

Actually, Herbert Dillon is on the list with North, but the other two weren't.

I've got Herbert Dillon as playing One game for North in 1939 and 3 with N-NA in 1944.
Also I have A.L Hill as a North Registered player , but not A.Stone

There's a good picture of the 1945 Torrens team in the book recently released by John Storer if you want a scanned copy?
