This is where I have a problem starting records from 1907 and not 1897. This was the ONLY difference between 1906 and 1907 - nothing else changed. On the other hand in 1897 behinds were added towards the score for the first time and electorate football started. Also there was a Grand Final (as such) from 1898 onwards.
1907 was however the first year that they started awarding an actual flag to the premiers.
