Best place to start, firstly, is "At The Toss Of A Coin", just up from the Cremorne Hotel on Unley Road, ring Gerry on 8373 0170. Very good selection of SANFL books as a rule and Gerry sells a lot of SANFL memorabilia also.

Great read and great starting point.
SA GREATS - The History of the Magarey Medal - John Wood (1987)
Again great read and a good insight into individual champions
RED AND BLUE BLOODED - Mike Coward (1978)
I really enjoyed this book. Coward's style is great and whilst it tends to concentrate on particular players it ties it on beautifully with the history of Norwood.
THE PASH PAPERS - Jeff Pash
A collection of articles that Jeff Pash (1939 Magarey Medalist) wrote in the post war years. Captures the feel of the era wonderfully and has some fantastci photos.
THE FARMER FILES - Paul Depasquale
A true masterpiece this one. 280 odd pages that deals with the life of Ken Farmer. Amazing photos as well.
THE MASTER - Brian Kay
The story of Bob Hank. A nice read on the man and post war footy in the state.
THE CENTENARY HISTORY OF THE NORTH ADELAIDE FOOTBALL CLUB - John Wood.
Well what can I say? Disappointed would be an understatement. Due to time or whatever was something of a rush job and riddled with errors and didn't go nearly far enough into the story of the club. The next one will be a lot better.......I know one of the authors really well

Dave Warner's "Footy's Hall Of Shame" deserves a mention, if only for purporting to treat the three main competitions (SANFL, WAFL, V/AFL) on an equal footing. In reality there is a fair bias towards WAFL and VFL, but I guess it's nice to get any SANFL coverage in today's climate.

THE MASTER - Brian Kay
The story of Bob Hank. A nice read on the man and post war footy in the state.

I enjoyed it, but it was pretty simplistically written. Great photos.

I'm currently half way through Pound for Pound - The Ken Eustice Story by Peter Cornwall. It is very good.

My favourite reads were the Farmer Files and Pound for Pound, the Bob Hank book didn't thrill me the way it was written and I was also very disappointed with the Dynasty book shown above.

My favourite reads were the Farmer Files and Pound for Pound, the Bob Hank book didn't thrill me the way it was written and I was also very disappointed with the Dynasty book shown above.

Last night on the ABC Peter Goers, Mike Sexton and Lincoln Tyner paid tribute to the author of the Farmer Files, Paul De Pasquale, who passed away recently. He was also responsible for collating the Pash papers. A couple of great projects.

Still regret not buying it then and there...

Does it explain who the North Adelaide Pirates football club were ?

I can tell you they were the Association team which was a seperate comp in the days before seconds/reserves.

I got mine at Santo's for $10!!! About a year ago. Hopefully he still has a couple of copies.
