1968 Reserves Finals Series

Postby deep south » Wed Apr 12, 2006 1:21 pm

Does anyone have details (best players, goal kickers etc) for all games of the 1968 finals series? I am after B Grade games only for this series.

Hope someone can help.

Unfortunately, I only have finals results for each grade from 1970 onwards! But I am going to the library tomorrow, so I can find them out for you. However, Adelaide Hawk posted the GF details of the reserves for this year, I'll get that one up on this page.

I can spend hours looking at old budgets. Have you checked out the budgets from 1938 on micro film at the State Library? I saw them when I was there last week. Fantastic stuff.

Unfortunately only 1938 at this stage. There is also a magazine from 1907/8 called SA Footballer on microfilm which is a great read with some very interesting photos.

An interesting player for Glenelg was centreman Bodan Cybulka. Two great games in the finals, looked a ready made league player, and disappeared after that. I've often wondered what happened to him.

Players I found interesting:

SOUTH ADELAIDE
M.Whitford 7

Malcolm was the strata title manager at the first property I ever bought. Affable chap, if not entirely the most professional bloke for the job.

GLENELG
G.Edwards 18

1973 Woodville Reserves Premiership captain-coach! :D
