There's a bloke Macca wouldn't catch much ... Platt's too agile and nimble I'd say, a bit like Mark Naley was but the Rat had a big in and under element to his game also.

Slightly as an aside, Trevor Roe always had Aishy's number, did he fair aswell in a tagging role on others?

If it was footy 70s/80s style, Barrie would thrash him.

Well, my comment was based on players from different eras, and that Judd is a far more effective player in football circa 2009 where there are a lot of stoppages due to congestion through the midfield. This brings Judd into his element as he uses his speed to break clear of packs.

In the 70s and 80s, there were more one-on-one contests around the field meaning the ball was pretty much in the play most of the time. In that era, Robran's superior ball handling and overhead marking would give him a huge advantage over an opponent who relies heaviliy on leg speed. As a matter of fact, I would doubt Robran and Judd would ever line up on each other for that very reason.

How about Barrie Robran vs Michael Voss then AH?

I rate Voss a better overall player than Judd.
Great skills and tough as well.

Robran was an on-baller/CHF...

I know, but how many on-ballers actually go one on one? Instead, they tend to have a tag each. I would have thought a Robran v Jakovich would have been an absolute beauty like the old Carey v Jakovich matchups.

You can't compare players from the 70's against players from today's era? It was hard enough in the 70's to stack SANFL players up against those in the VFL.
