Sturt Muscle Man (mascot) Toy & 1980's Scarves

Postby csbowes » Tue Dec 16, 2008 4:21 pm

Ladies/Gents,

I'm trying to find a Sturt muscle-man mascot. Supposedly one was made and sold back in the early-1980's or even before...

Has anyone got one they could photograph for me?

I'd also be interested in acquiring one if someone has one they are willing to part with...

Same goes for early 1980's Sturt scarves, which had DOUBLE BLUES knitted into them and the light blue was equivalent to what the dark blue is now, so overall the scarf was dark.

Regards,

Chris

Ask and ye shall receive ;)

For some strange reason I began to collect these things a few years ago - I just need a Panther mascot to complete the whole set. The big ones are about 42 cm and they made little mini mascots for a while too.

I have a spare Eagles one up on eBay at the moment if anyone is interested:

AHHHH! That's the exact scarf I'm trying to buy... I'm sure my ex-gf has it in her parents garage, but she refuses to look for it for me... so I'm trying to buy another one... waiting on someone to flog one off on ebay, but no luck as yet...

I think I'm just going to have to walk around Unley Oval with some dosh in hand.... or maybe a club! :-)

Surprised at how the mascot looks, I thought he was going to be more of a muscle man than a normal bloke, so sorta disappointed, but jealous all the same... class toy! :-)
