The Eagles is a new entity fromed from the genealogy of its parents West Torrens and Woodville. The Niemann family will always hold the record for West Torrens but Fairclough hold the Eagles Record!

Agreed that Fairclough is the youngest for the Eagles but Niemann was the youngest to play for either Woodville or West Torrens

For Woodville, at a guess I'll say Ray Huppatz.

Just to add, as a North person informed me a while back, was only 14 when he first played reserves.

Mark Abel was 14 when he played his first reserves game in 1999 or 2000

Wanganeen was playing reserves when he was 15.

Apparently Jack wanted him to play seniors at that age.

But Wanganeen's old man objected - said he was too young.

This maybe who I should have been referring to Cruzn9. Did ask someone about it on here a while back and they told me it was Jared Rivers. Remember the story from the Advertiser at the time.
Does he still play football?

Mark Abel is engaged & living with her in qld. His partner & mark moved over there because of work purposes. An offer he couldnt refuse. But only for a year or two, to save some money & then come back to adelaide to build a house.
I havnt seen mark in ages but would you believe it i saw him over the weekend he came to the Athelstone football club masquare ball at the gov hotel on north tce. His older brother luke abel is playing with athelstone div 3 & im sure when mark returns to adelaide he will play with his brother.
His not playing footy at the moment - his probally not as fit but the kid can play... I was at that game, mark played his first reserves game & for a first impression i was very impressed. Chris Mcdermott shaw new raw talent when he saw it - its a shame mark didnt continue on.

I think Jamie Downs was from the Mallee area originally, i've got a feeling he left West to go back and play for Karoonda or Wynarka..

Jamie Downs had plenty of ability, but suffered several fractures and went back to play country football. I think he played for his hometown, Peake, then lived at Keith, where he played and coached.

I think he's living and teaching in Adelaide now.

His brother is still kicking goals for Peake.

Prior to Dexter, I think you may find our orevious youngest was Alby Lawn. Only a few days in it though. Alby's son Colin I know pretty well and we often discussed it. Col is still an avid West Supporter. Life member at Plympton and Reynella for football and cricket.
