Over the years, I've often pondered over players who, in my childhood, appeared to be very good footballers. And yet, as quickly as they arrived, they were gone from the league football scene, and I've often wondered what became of them, and more to the point ... why didn't their league careers flourish?
I thought I'd open a thread where people could perhaps list players in this category, and maybe other people could provide the answers.
I'll kick the ball off with 1967 Sturt premiership ruckman Greg Weir. My memories of him were of a very competant footballer playing 16 games, 17 goals and a premiership in his first season. Then in1968 he added a further 7 games, and we never saw him again.
Can anyone tell me whatever happened to big number 23 for the Blues, Greg Weir?
