Try Gerry McGinley at 'At the toss of a coin" in Unley Road Malvern.
Phone number is 8373 0170.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Don't quote me on this but there is a chance that Norwood didn't produce badges in 41 or 45. At North we got all our membership badges going back as far as possible and found none were made in 41 or 45.

Thanx for the responses to date. I'm well aquainted with Gerry and his shop but it's my firm belief that these (remaining) badges are out there somewhere amongst SANFL supporters.

LL - thanks for that. I've seen the North collection and it is very impressive and lovingly presented. In fact, the whole history presentation at NAFC is something for other clubs to aspire to.

1942-44 were definitely (war) years when Nwd and NAFC merged and no badges were produced. I am aware of a tin badge for Nwd in 1945. 1939 and 1941 are both a bit of a mystery - as are the years from 1927-1934. I do have a 1940 badge though - very rare and very expensive!

Just thought I'd try this forum in the hope that some other club supporters may have a few of these (grandparents, collectors etc).

Cheers for the heads up there LL. Only been waiting about 5 years for this badge so after only a week or so, may be you could be my lucky charm?

I note you are in Vic - do you know of any specialists in Melb who deal in SANFL badges at all? I know there is a big collectors market there in any case.

Not really. Every now and then a couple of badges turn up but not regularly. I have picked up some good stuff at fairs from time. For example last year at a fair I picked up a 1943 Preliminary Final Budget (love the N-NA stuff) as well as a poster of North from the 30's and one of Percy Furler.
Once at a fair I came across a Tom Leahy badge from the early 1920s. The guy wanted $80 for it  and then proceeded to tell me he was a great South Melbourne player. I told him it was worth $40 and the only time the guy ever set foot on a Victorian Oval was to play in a State Game! He wouldn't hear it and he went home $40 poorer and I went home sans Mr Leahy. I ended up getting the badge last year from Gerry so no loss on my part.
Good luck getting the 56 badge!
