I'd have to do that table up, but I wouldn't be surprised if the answer was when there was no appointed coach - like the 1910s!

1950 onward I'm pretty sure would be never. Oatey, Williams, Kerley would have been coaching for most of the time and then Cahill, Balme, Nunan. Maybe after Cahill went to the AFL when Williams first took over Port. 1996 possibily
