Two that I find amazing are Port in 1959, their sixth premiership in a row, to have 9 new premiership players and North in 1972 in their second in a row to have 8 new players. Take 8 or 9 players out of a premiership side and still win the flag is remarkable.

Make sure you send this list off to Phil Herden for the 2012 SANFL Media Guide.
He's only got them from 1945 onwards.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Hi Spelly,

Dion Hayman's book suggests there were only 8 new Port premiership players in 1959 - Tull, Dittmar, Potter, Luke, Cahill, T.Obst, Kelly and Mahney. Phil and Peter's Media Guide has it at 7, but I think they made an error in leaving out Potter.

Hmm, the problem lies with Marrett, then. I haven't actually got a copy of the last two Media Guides that were done. The list I have is a continuation of this:

viewtopic.php?f=30&t=4783&p=87864&hilit=premiership#p87864

And I've found the problem - Bob Marrett played in the premiership side in '58 and I've got Peter Marrett in that one - his last game for Port was the '55 side.

And I will have to give the list to Phil, Mr 66.

I'd like to know who the full names of these players are for a more complete look to that list:
