Barry Stanfield

Can someone help answer a question my mate and I can't seem to agree on on work out the correct answer...

Former Footscray player Barry Stanfield came to the Crows and was aligned to which SANFL club?

I thought for a while maybe Norwood but reakon I was confusing Barry with Ian Downsborough (sp?) who I think was at the Legs wasn't he?

My first thought was Sturt was the club Stanfield was linked to but not 100% sure...

Anyone?

Ian Downsborough was definitely at Norwood, and like others, I think Barry Stanfield was picked up by Sturt.

With no certainty I'd have said South, but maybe I'm mixing him up with Danny Del Re.

Yep I remember Standfield's time at Sturt quite well - he lost form whilst with the Crows in 97 and got sent to Sturt mid-season. His first game for Sturt was against CD at Adelaide Oval - he kicked 6 of Sturt's 13 goals as the Blues recorded an upset win - the first of 6 consecutive wins to qualify for the 97 Major Round. Us Sturt fans were pretty excited to have a quality AFL player in our midst! Sadly his other games at Sturt during 97 & 98 were very ordinary...
