...well at least, the start of it...

Dear Account Holder,

We refer to our email to you of 15 December 2006 regarding the Betting
and Racing Legislation Amendment Bill 2006. As you are aware the
legislation proposes to ban any person present in WA from placing bets
with Betfair.

Interesting!

very interesting...rumours of this occuring in SA, thinking of changing my address to my brothers in Canberra before the shit hits the fan...Id be lost with out BF.....best odds, best variety, Lay option, excellent 24 hour service and they payout extremely quickly...

Other thing I saw on another forum was ISP masking software you can get cheaply which masks your location so much so that you can actually bet live on the internet without having to phone up....Diss might know more about this and the options...

Depends on how much co-operation they get from the ISPs around - and how much technical knowledge they have.

I'm with Internode for example, and there are IP addresses assigned to their customers in SA, NSW et al ... so if they KNEW the ranges they could possibly get it done. Or maybe traceroute to your IP and see where it hits

go to the START button, RUN, and type in CMD and press enter

At the DOS Prompt, type in tracert betfair.com.au
Then you can see where your connection goes through to get to betfair. If they traceroute to you, it would be reversed.

It's possible - although hard.
