2020 Melb Cup Day Punters Club

G'day lads .. Had a few discussions with Dutchy during the year and thought I' see if there's any interest in a Melb Cup Day SAFooty Punters Club?

Lots of different way it could be run so always welcome feedback on the structure if enough people are interested.

Initial thoughts were (based on a 10 race card) $50 per Punter, and each punter gets assigned a race to spend their $50. Purse held and bets placed by Dutchy.

Another option could be $60 per head including 1 x $50 bet each and 1 x Melb Cup selection for a % based syndicate Trifecta in the Cup.

Numbers would be capped so that everyone gets an equal turn - Ie, if a 10 Race card then participant numbers would be limited to multiples of 10.

Purse held and bets placed by Dutchy who would then disperse any winnings individually with every participant receiving the same return.

Righto, yay? nay? Interested if it's run differently etc?

Also, this will in no way replace the time honoured JK SAFooty Melbourne Cup competition.

Cheers,
JK

Love the idea mate. Count me in on any plan.

I like the $50 + $10 idea, means everyone is involved in the Cup tri.

Yep, I'm happy to enter.

Just remind me closer to the date that I've volunteered to enter this event.

While on the subject, does anybody else have the day off for Melbourne Cup this year?

I thought I'd take the following day off aswell incase I have a big one.

Actually good point, we probably don't need to cap it do we? If there's more than 10 entries we'll just run with multiple bets in some races.

I take the whole week off these days (actually probably have for 10 years now).

Derby Day, Cup Day, Oaks Day, Emirates (or equivalent) makes for a long week and requires opportunity for a rest day or two.

No worries, I know of a couple of decent punters that might wanna join and they could add some value to us.

So long as they don’t mind feeling out of place...

There may only be 10 races but there's plenty of multis to do.
I reckon the more the merrier
