What is going on in SA ?

MORPHETVILLE AUDITORUIM
Plans are to rejuvinate the complex and re-open it as a Pub Tab
Im thinking thats good, it used to be a good place to dine and punt and socialise
But it is extremely likely that there will be no Bookmakers to service the new complex
Without a Bookie in my opinion the complex will most likely become a fizzer
Perhaps the SAJC has not done its homework ?
TAB patronage will drop and drop and drop, to the stage where after this generation of punters, hardly anyone will be betting in TABs, they will morely be on the Internet/phones etc
No Bookie is a NO brainer ?
A Bookie will attract more people and in fact prob increase TAB turnover

INTERNET BOOKIES IN SA
This is a great MALaise
The chatter is that there will be no SA Internet Bookies for about 5 years
What the ....
I believe there was an agreement when Unitab tookover our TAB that they would take-over on the proviso there would be no SA Internet Bookies
The world has changed since this draconian agreement
I have Internet accounts all over the globe, including a couple of Bookies in MALta
Thats stupid, I cant open a Internet account with a SA Bookie but I can bet on the SANFL footy via the net with a MALtese Bookie !!!!
In this state UNITAB is a defacto Internet Bookie and would want to keep it that way by depriving an Internet Bookie in SA
The absurdity of that is that I can still open Internet accounts with about 10 Interstate Internet Bookies ...

well it is a shame to let such a complex go to waste without using it in some way

Unitab did well when taking over to make sure they had no competition and they themselves are in fact expanding on the internet bookie scene

your on the ball mal, this is a similar reason to why i haven't been to the trots for about 2 months & i will now only go to the bigger meetings because on course at globe derby you no longer get the bookies prices from other meetings all over australia, so there is no advantage in being there anymore (apart from when cheify knows something)....i also wonder how long peter dammarrell will keep turning up as the bookie at albion park has finished operations up there (apart from the big nights)...which means you get more info & better services off course than you do on course

as for the rules for the locals, well it is disgraceful in this day & age in fact it is an archaic rule

Of course action on Betfair will rise and at the moment one of our leading Bookies is also one of SA's biggest Betfair customers.

Was lucky enough to be on the Betfair table at last weeks Morphettville meeting with 3 of our local journalists and 4 mates and the Betfair reps can only see their product continually gettting bigger and making it hard for others to compete.

ps. Geez I hope their promise of the box at the Ashes comes thru

G they give tickets to their box at every test, don't worry about promises, if you getting them you'd have them by now, and unless your going as fev25's partner i dont think we'll see you there, they only have limited seats, and dont normally bother inviting nickel and dime punters!
