NFL 10/11

Finally the NFL 10/11 Season is upon us...

Futures
AFC Winner - Indianapolis Colts $100 @ 5.50-
Think it's great value for the always great Colts. They have the best QB in the game and no glaring holes unlike alot of the other contenders in the AFC. New England and Balti have shocking secondaries and will get thrown on all day, San Diego are notoroius for failing in playoffs and the Jets have serious QB issues.

Superbowl Combo - Colts v Packers $30 @ 32 -
As above for Colts and the Packers are primed for massive year. Their defence will be much better in their 2nd year under Dom Capers (Defensive Co-ordinator) and it doesn't matter too much when your offence can outscore everyone in the league.

Division Winners Multi - San Diego/Dallas/Indi/New England/New Orleans/San Fran $50 @ 32

Regular Season Wins - GB 10+/Min 9.5+/Dallas 10+/Chicago -7.5/TB -5.5/Indi 10.5+/SD 10.5+/NE 9.5+/Arizona -7.5 $20 @ 343

Went pretty well last year with NFL multies, so I will attempt to do the same this year.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (Handicap -2.0) @ 1.91
GREEN BAY PACKERS (Handicap -3.0) @ 2.05
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (Handicap -3.0) @ 1.95

$50 @ 7.63 - $381.76

This first multi is all about teams who I believe are playing against either teams that are going to be horrible, or are a little overrated. In the case of the Jaguars and the Packers, I can see the Broncos and Eagles not going that well this year. 49ers are playing the Seahawks who would have to be in the worst few teams going around.

Saints -5 @ 1.91 v Vikings
Giants -7 @ 1.91 v Panthers
Colts -2 @ 1.91 v Titans
Packers -3 @ 2.05 v Eagles
Chargers -4.5 @ 1.91 v Chiefs

$28 @ 27.283 - 763.92

How often does the Superbowl team lose in week 1. Can't see the Colts losing either, Titans are always a team that promise so much but don't deliver as expected. Giants and Chargers are the ones that could trouble this multi IMO.

Love your insight btw Mop. Served me well many a time last year. Love the Green Bay bets.

Colts are playing the Texans wk 1

Chiefs will be dreadful this year their entire running back brigade are in the twilight of their careers.

I got mine from Sportsbet, also Betfair have them. Some easy $$ on there, alot of teams are easily capable of 11-12 wins and there are some stinkers this year. Struggle to see how Tampa Bay will get anywhere near the 5.5 line

Think you mean Washington Redskins with Larry Johnson, Clinton Portis, etc
Chiefs have a stud young running back in Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones

Good Luck Brent, did notice you had some good wins last year.

Bets I'm thinking about for week one...
* Colts -2.5 @1.91 - Pretty high on the colts, Texans have lot of talent but I'll take Peyton to win by a field goal any week.
* Cleveland Browns WIN @ 2.30 - Cleveland are useless, but Tampa Bay are worse. Bit of a risk betting on dud teams but Cleveland have upgraded at QB (just, anything beats Brady Quinn) and other positions whereas TB still suck.
* Atlanta Falcons - 2 @ 1.91 - Pittsburgh don't have Rothelisberger for first 4 games, Dixon can play but he's young and untried. Falcons QB Matt Ryan looks set for big year and with Turner healthy and running the ball should be to strong.

Also don't mind Detroit +6.5 v Bears who are looking hopeless, Dallas - 3 against Washington and Baltimore to beat the Jets on MNF.

Week1 NFL Season
Jacksonville win @ 1.68 -2.5 @ 1.85
Green Bay win @ 1.62 -3.0 @ 1.95
SanFrancisco win @ 1.67 -3.0 @ 2.00
Indianapolis win @ 1.77 -2.0 @ 1.90
Totals 8.04 13.71
I'll be having $50 on the win column and $50 on the line column.
Seems like a lot of small lines for week 1.

Also like New Orleans this morning on the line -5.0 @ 1.90. I don't think Minnesota are ready just yet, with a question mark over Favre. In the last 9 seasons the defending super bowl champions have won 7 times so the Saints look too strong at home on opening night.

First few weeks of betting are great, because the lines haven't really evened out yet. Too many unknowns to set big lines at this stage of the season I'd say.

Staying away from today's game betting wise, should be a cracker to open with. Hopefully I can find a radio call of it to listen to at work. Agree Minnesota don't look ready but with Favre you just never know what will happen. Not to mention AP in the backfield, should be primed for big year. Still think the saints, but unsure on the line.

Interesting you guys have both taken the Jags. I'm really down on Jags this year, can't see where they have improved on last yr and they're only player MJD is under an injury cloud. Hopefully they pull through...

And not sure if you guys have seen/heard of the tv series Hard Knocks. Shown on HBO in the US, it's just finished it's 6th season and it follows one team throughout their training camp. This year it was the Jets and it's amazing viewing, especially with Rex Ryan as coach. Cameras get all access passes and it seriously is one of the best series on tv.
First episode is here http://www.casttv.com/shows/hard-knocks ... -1/7ipo8sc

Cool, I might have to check it out tonight.

I am not high on the Jags this year, but I am really, really down on the Broncos, especially away.

That pick was more of betting against the Broncos, rather than betting for the Jags.

Just means you don't win, you don't lose. It just gets taken out of the multi.
