Start the chatter, its Spring now!
I already have a value bet on Moudre as it is a friends horse and has been running really well and is ready for the longer run IMO

I have a nice place bet on Master O'Reilly at $61.... And that was with Sportsalive about a month ago when they were offering places for 1 2 3 4 5... so if Master O'Reilly finishes his customary 4th I'll be laughing...

That is a ridiculous price for the Master to run in the first five.
Should be less than $5.

I think we're getting ridiculous odds for Whobegotyou in the Cox Plate.
Shocking's win at Flemington showed the importance of the notion 'horses for courses' which is often overlooked.
Whobe loves the Valley.

The field and barrier draw for the Geelong Cup, on Wednesday, has been released. In the past ten years or so, this has become a very good form pointer for the Cup, with last year's Melb Cup runner up, Crime Scene, running at Geelong the start prior, while 2008 Melb Cup runner up Bauer, won the Geelong Cup that year.
For what its worth, there are some very good wraps on the Luca Cumani (father of Francesca - g'day Constance_Perm) trained galloper Drunken Sailor, while French jockey Gerald Mosse will have to appeal a ten meeting suspension for his "ride" on Mr Medici in the Caulfield Cup to ride the French topweight, Americain
Geelong Cup (group 3, 2406m)
1 AMERICAIN (1) G Mosse 58
2 DRUNKEN SAILOR (9) B Prebble 57
3 NO WINE NO SONG (14) J Cassidy 57
4 ONCE WERE WILD (5) N Rawiller 55
5 MOUDRE (10) C Williams 54.5
6 KERDEM (15) Ms M Payne 53
7 APPREHEND (6) Not notified 53
8 COUNT ENCOSTA (13) C Newitt 53
9 EXCEPTIONALLY (3) D Nikolic 53
10 MR CHARLIE (2) L Nolen 53
11 THE HOMBRE (7) M Du Plessis 53
12 MILES ABOVE (12) Not notified 53
13 MACEDONIAN (4) D Dunn 53
14 GALLANT LADY (11) Not notified 53
15 SAINT ENCOSTA (8) J Winks 53

Have been lucky enough to do some work involving the trainer and jock of Shoot Out.
Stathi is supremely confident for the Melbourne Cup, and I agree - I think the wet track of the Caulfield Cup might tax a few of the rival horses.
John Wallace said Shoot Out WILL run first three in the Cox Plate.
Make of it what you will, but I agree.

I've been on Shocking all campaign and I'm not jumping off, especially on the back of the run in the Cup on Saturday just gone.

It seems like every previous melb cup winner from last few years has started favourite the following year. Makybe diva, viewed, efficient(??), shocking... Prob suggests it's worth putting 10 bucks on them when the markets open back up again when it's an all in market and hope it backs up. Just my observations.

If you want to get on Shocking do it before this weekend. My feeling is that SO YOU THINK will win the Cox Plate and then be scratched from the Melbourne Cup...
