For what its worth, thought that Ricky Barnes was a reasonable chance for the win and top 5 at the $101 on offer. Has had a very good last six months in the U.S.

Other good chances to Jim Furyk, Mike Weir, Rhys Davies (has hit a real purple patch on the European Tour) and Matt Kuchar. Bolter's chance to James Morrison (the conditions should suit his game well).

Of the Aussie contingent, would expect Adam Scott to go well with the confidence from his recent win, while Michael Sim, if he has fully recovered from recent surgery and John Senden should also be suited by the course. Marc Leishman at long odds, but not without a hope of a top 25 finish.

Suspect, still, that Tiger is still not ready for this one. Each time I've watched him for sustained periods in the comeback, the timing still looks awry and the putting not anywhere near as fluid as usual.

2011 tournament tees off tonight, and without Tiger Woods, looks a very, very open event.

Of the Australian contingent, Jason Day leads the boards at $41. Has been in very good form overall the last 12 months, but worth noting he said that he felt very tired the last few weeks and needed a freshen up for this tournament. Adam Scott sits at $51 - not sure this is value at this stage, would like to see his opening round first - ditto with Aaron Badderley at $67. Don't, however, discount Geoff Ogilvy at the 67's - that looks overs for a proven player at this level.

Greg Chalmers looks big overs at $301. Has had some very good rounds the last few months in the US, prone to hitting a real streak at times and the course will suit his game to the ground. Top 25 at $8 looks very good also.

Lee Westwood heads the overall market at $12, which looks a shade risky for mine. Has had some real fits and starts in getting to this position. Steve Stricker also looks unders at $23. Also can't warm to Phil Mickelson at $16 - suspect he will be better at some stage during the tournament, unless he can hit one of his hot streaks off the fairways with his iron play.

For bigger priced players in form, Camillo Villegas at $101 for the win and $4.25 for top 25 should give a real sight. Also looks very suited by the course and has finished hard in recent months in a few events. Don't discount Gary Woodland at $91 - itching to win a big tournament and would think he will be in the mix along the way. Rory Sabbatini at $101, Louis Oosthuizen at $201, Rickie Fowler at $81 and Brandt Snedeker at $56 should also be considered for smaller looks. Justin Rose's $71 also looks real overs.

Finally, the option with the site sponsor of "Yes, a hole in one will be scored in the US Open" at $2.25 looks reasonable.

Will have a little bet on:

Steve Stricker @ $19 (is my pick for the tournament)
Jim Furyk @ $51
John Senden @ $151 (IMHO in the top 10 in the world tee to green -if he putts well, who knows?)

and for some REAL value:
Henrik Stenson @ $251
Kim Dae Hyun @ $801

I like Jiminez, great character and would consider him in Europe. He is out of depth here.

Hope he plays well for you tho.....

I think he finished 27th in the masters so may be on the improve. ;)

TBH I saw the odds, thought if he makes the cut they might come in a bit and i can look to get out. Very wishful but hey its only $5.

Tread very Carefully, quite often the leader into the weekend crashes and burns on either Saturday or Sunday.

McIlroy, while six shots clear at present, is not someone I'd be placing the life savings on at this stage of a tournament.
