query on jackpots

i've been meaning to ask this for a while now, can anyone tell me for non tab meetings that have jackpots on 'the local tote' what happens when the last race jackpots....they jackpot from race to race but what happens with the last race when it jackpots ???...the quinella & trifecta both jackpotted at the last kapunda meeting & i just wondered where does it go ? (or is it a bonus for the tote operators/manager ?)

The jackpots get transferred to the next meeting. If there is no known schedule of a next meeting, bets should be refunded as far as I know.

I will find a definate answer for you this weekend.

The jackpots for NON-TAB and TAB events that cannot be followed on are then used as part of the money that supplies those 10k F4 jackpots Race 1 first week of the month, or any BIG 6 bonuses that the TAB have.

The bets arn't refunded. Just that the jackpotted money goes into a fund, and that fund is then used for those bonuses.

Sounds like you're talking about j/pots on S/Tab and NOT Unitab which Bayman is referring to in reguards to Kapunda Non Tab meetings where they run an ON COURSE tote only. ?

Also why would an ON COURSE tote ONLY have anything to do with the TAB when it's a NON Tab meeting ?

Depends what the event is sanctioned under. The non-tab track that I work at still has an affiliation with the TAB and they run their non-tab betting through the same process as the TAB does. Just that you can only bet on it on-course.

The tab is there to be used as per normal for other events throughout the day along with the local on-course bookie.

But even though they are non-tab they are still affiliated with the TAB and that is where the jackpot money goes according to the TAB employee.
