how old is the dog?
Is it resuming from an injury or a long break?

you wont know until it trials a couple of times and is able to reduce its times each occasion

Me and few mates have always been thinking of buying dog but never been brave enough slash never really had enough info.
Did you do it through a syndicate?
Mind me asking how much it costs?
Anythign else... i got questions but arent coming to mind atm.. tough day at work!!

you can get a few mates and create your own syndicate or go into a registered syndicate business, although do your research or you could end up in a Team Bundy situation.
obviously the major costing is the purchase of the dog, transport if required and then getting a trainer and working out what they charge etc

Yeah that Team Bundy situation scared us off a little.
And knowing my mates they would want the syndicate business to handle everything, theyd just wanna go watch it mainly...
Would you suggest any MT79?

From what i understand Karen Whittolz is a very honest trainer who wont rip u off, ring GRSA and they should be able to provide u with her details.Have heard some terrible things concerning other trainers dealings with owners,do some research before u make up your mind, can get alot of enjoyment for not a big outlay,as long u dont go ballistic on backing your dog.Wish u the best of luck.

You wont find a registered syndicate manager located in SA as Brad Gully (Team Bundy) has totally screwed it for everyone. Get some mates together and appoint one of them as the manager. Find a reputable trainer. Karen & Mike W are as honest as they come and wont dribble crap in your ear about how good your dog is unless it really is that good. They are both straight down the line and will tell you how it is. They charge weekly training fees + a smaller % of prizemoney.
I was at Gawler tonight catching a couple of dogs for a mate of mine pity i didnt read this post earlier.
If you want to speak to Karen & Mike pop into Gawler dogs on a Tuesday and come into the Bar as thats where you will find them as Mike works behind the bar on race day.

there is a poster on here called 'vicgirl' a pm to her could also help as she is one of the 'bigger named' trainers in adelaide
personally i've been in 3 dogs over a 25 year period & got screwed in some form on every occaision, the best one was that we were paying up for a pup from birth, signed papers etc & it hadn't made it to the trials when it was 30 months old, i quizzed someone in the dog game back then & he said cut your losses the dog is either no good or dead, i should have STOPPED then, so as they say 3 strikes & your out so you'll never ever see baymans name in the dog book as an owner

Good trainers, great people, and put in a lot of work with the running of Gawler dogs
