tonights gdp disgrace

firstly there was a definate leader biased track tonight where the leader & behind the leader ran the quinella races 1,2,3,4,6, in race 7 & 8 they ran 1st & 3rd, in race 9 the winner who had more ability than his opponents came from last & the winner of the last who was way down in class was in the 1x1

THEY HAVE TO GET THE TRACK RIGHT SO EVERY HORSE HAS A CHANCE

then we had the fiasco in race 3 when clearly major grant who was a heavily backed favourite (i backed pinevale adam) was not even on the track as the starter said GO  both may_z & myself thought that it'd be a non runner as did the usual characters from the track like the snake, young ben h, as well as a few others, we got a ''hold all tickets'' call & we thought that yes they'll see that it was denied a fair start, yet 10 or so minutes later it was 'all clear' which just stunned me, in punting i think we punters (australia if not world wide) deserve to be looked after as we are the lifeblood of the industry yet get treated like 2nd rate citizens in this case because as one wise crack i heard was.....''why would they scratch it when half the money in the pools would then have to be refunded & they lose on it'' ?

well after witnessing this from the fence at the start & again just now on tape i have to agree that this last sentence to me is correct, so i'll stop betting on these walkup starts as it isn't fair & that's all we ask as punters ''A FAIR GO''......

i hope the 5rph gurus get onto this next thursday morning & ask the cheif steward why the horse wasn't made a late scratching as it should have been

GET RID OFF THESE STARTS THEY DO NOTHING FOR THE IMAGE OF FAIRNESS, THE SPORT & THE BLOODY PUNTER

The turn and burn races can be unfair
Certain drivers have anticipated the start and have started fractionally b4 most runners, and gaining an unfair advantage at times
One driver was recently fined for this ????

As for that particular trot race it was significant to me
I did back the winner of this race [as a saver I was mostly on Pinevale Adam]
The winner was Keystone Maori, [In a Keystone Cop type race !]

The befuddling mishap with the favourite Major Grant certainly benefitted me
Having said that I would have had no qualms if MI was declared a non runner
To lose $$$ on the punt in those circumstances does aggrevate most punters
There was a lot of $$$ put on Major Grant, and those punters might need one as as well .....

Agree with the concensus that it would not be in the TABs best financial interests to declare it a non runner
But what would you expect of a TAB that jackpots GDP multis and exotics to QL trotting races or Adelaide Greyhound races or wherever else our Adelaide jackpots end up

Couldn't be any worse than the farcial starts they have in the jumps races in England where they don't use barrier stalls and the horses just wander around like Browns Cows and all of a sudden THEY"RE OFF AND RACING  with some horse LENGTHS in front off the others when they go.

As for Track bias, well when the best horses lob in front and the other drivers leave them alone, of course the leader behind leader scenario is going to occur, happens on most tracks, it's just that last night was more evident than usual.

The exact same thing happened in a trot about 5 or 6 weeks ago to Saybia when it drew the pole. The problem is that the horses drawn out wide are already off while the horse drawn the pole is still a step away from being on the track
