Going by the "Ponting Must Retire Or Resign As Captain For Pay Out - Fill In Role DOES NOT Apply " I would imagine not....

Who in the F**K would be stupid enough to back Clarke at $1.25 and then have to wait up to several years to collect their money assuming Clarke is still playing?

just had a look at the post & thought that the australian wallaby captain must have announced his retirement 
as for clarke, if he stays with lara he will not get the australian test captains job imho

I honestly would not be suprised if it is Brad Haddin. Believe he captained AUS U/19s and has done a good job in the t20's that he has captained. (Different game i know)
I think Clarke is still the favourite, but having Hussey and White ahead of him are suprising IMO.
Ponting plays for 3 years and captains that time, it could well be a player not in the side at the moment!
