Secondly, his strike rate is not that great! And your not going to drop a batsman so Hopes can come in and score slowly and bowl 5 overs or so. Watson as the 5th bowler with White and Clarke to bowl a couple each if needed which i doubt

Thanks for the strike rate at 90. That is not that great for someone that has batted at 7, 8 for the majority of their innings. Thats where you need strike rates of 100+ when they bat for 15 balls or so.

However, i was talking about his strike rate in the big bash this year! His strike rate (altho a different form of the game) in t20 cricket (and this is domestic) is only 120. Thats only 36 off 30 balls. Thats in a level below aswell. Completely understand based on those stats why he isnt playing!

He is not even in the market today, classed as any other batsman at $5
