NFL 09/10

Well the new season starts this weekend so figure I'll throw my best bets of the week on here and see how we go..... hopefully get off to good start so can keep going all year

Week One
Cleveland +3.5 v Minnesota -3.5
This is clearly the dumbest line of the week. Minnesota should be favoured by atleast 10. Lemme see... AP - Best RB in the league by a mile, Favre -3time MVP, Best run stop defence in the league, Great Pass rushers... oh and Cleveland still haven't worked out who their QB will be....
Easy Money

$100 Minnesota -3.5 @ 1.85
$20 Multi -Green Bay, Minnesota, Dallas, Atlanta @ 4.65
$20 Tennessee @ 3.15 (Mainly because I'm titans fan, but think this game will be lot closer than odds suggest too)

Favre might be an MVP but he's a liability. I agree the line is wrong, but it shouldn't be 10. Maybe about 5 or 6.

I placed a small multi on round 1 back on the 29th July - interesting how the lines have changed.

Code: Select all
Tennessee @ Pittsburgh        2: (Handicap) Pittsburgh ( -4.5) @ 1.91        - now -6.0
Miami @ Atlanta               2: (Handicap) Atlanta ( -4) @ 1.91             - now -4.0
Kansas City @ Baltimore       2: (Handicap) Baltimore ( -8) @ 1.91           - now -13.0
Denver @ Cincinnati           2: (Handicap) Cincinnati ( -2.5) @ 1.87        - now -4.0
Minnesota @ Cleveland         1: (Handicap) Minnesota ( -3) @ 1.95           - now -4.0
Jacksonville @ Indianapolis   2: (Handicap) Indianapolis ( -7) @ 1.95        - now -7.0
Detroit @ New Orleans         2: (Handicap) New Orleans ( -11) @ 1.91        - now -13.0
San Francisco @ Arizona       2: (Handicap) Arizona ( -6) @ 1.87             - now -6.5
Washington @ New York Giants  2: (Handicap) New York Giants ( -6.5) @ 1.91   - now -6.5
Chicago @ Green Bay           2: (Handicap) Green Bay ( -3) @ 1.95           - now -3.5
Buffalo @ New England         2: (Handicap) New England ( -10) @ 1.95        - now -10.0
San Diego @ Oakland           1: (Handicap) San Diego ( -6.5) @ 1.91         - now -9.0

At the moment I like:
Arizona - 6.5
Minnesota -4.0
Washington +6.5 (I really think the Giants will struggle early one)

Also I might get on the Jets straight up @ $3.10 because they are my team. Rookie coach, rookie QB, 2 DL missing - who cares :)

Good to have you along Westsider... see if we can't win ourselves some money!!

As much as its hard to believe I actually think Favre will restrain himself.... atleast for one week ;)

I'm gonna stay away from Arizona early on just bcos I think Kurt Warner will have slow start due to that hip surgery. Was real sluggish in pre season throwing 3INTs so I'll stay clear for now.

GO SANCHEZ!! Hope the kid makes your bet come through. GOOD LUCK!

Green Bay score TD with 1:11 on the clock to give them a 5 point win. Wont mention too much about St Louis though (28-0 loss)

$?? Baltimore +3.5 @ 1.85
$50 Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Washington @ 2.23
$?? New Orleans @ 2.00 - McNabb is under massive injury cloud, broken ribs, hasn't trained, surely won't play. Changes things massively... just hope Phillys D doesnt score 20 points themselves
$10 Pitts, Minn, Wash, Cleve +3.5, Oakland, Caro +7.5, Tenn, GB @ 25

Not sure on amounts yet... Will have a think over weekend but theyre the goodies ;)

IMHO the bet of the week is Minnesota at -9.5 at Detroit at $1.87.

Think Detroit will improve markedly this year but Stafford is still very green and not sure if he was worthy of no.1 selection overall in last draft but guess time will tell. Only doubt I have over this is if Lions change their mind and start Daunte Culpepper at QB ahead of Stafford but can't see that happening given Lion's long term plans

as a multi I like

Minnesota - 9.5
Kansas City to beat Oakland
Denver to beat Cleveland
Green Bay to beat Cincinatti

is paying $5.38
