Peter Mertens is great value for the jockey challenge today @ $4.00.
No ride in the first, and Linda Meech (JC favourite) has the ride on the fave. Might get better odds for Mertens after Meech wins race 1.

8 points will win it.
Culliver has a good chance in the last, after winning the 1st, but that'll only give him 6 points.
Gundogdu has 2 good rides in the 6 & 7, but that'll only give him 6 points.
McGill has moderate rides in 6,7,8 after getting 1 point in the 2nd.
Mertens should get at least 4 points from his next 3, it's almost time to line up in the queue.

Almost forgot about Meech.
Moderate rides in 4,5,6,7,8.
5 rides in a row without a break, don't see that often. Still don't think she will get more 6 points.

Now we're in a lot of trouble.
6 a piece, with Mertens a very average ride in the next then he goes home.
Meech with average to good rides in next 3.
In hindsight, Meech should've been a lot shorter.

If only Mertens picked up a point in the 6th... Was very close.
Lets hope Meech blows her remaining rides so we can get some sort of divvy.

Grub just out of absolute curiosity how many thousand $$ have jockey challenges cost you in the last year (rhetortical question)..... The bookies wouldn't be having one on ******* Bairnsdale if they were losing money on them, they have had challenges on Port Augusta
Great spectacle for a days viewing but wake up guys huge % markets are not there for the punter
There may be value at times but ur still taking unders in the long run.

I have no doubt it is one area of my punting that needs attention. taking unders on punitab is a sin and they thrive of instinct punters like me..... wheres a mirror

. I undo all my good work on these crappy bets.....
The JC is a bit bit like the most possesions in the AFL football...... Take unders and in the long run you lose.....
I would be tthousands down on JC betting but up in other areas.....
great point DC
