thats the only race i've ever seen from Pirie that 1/2 the field has NOT been poleaxed on the 1st turn.
worst greyhound track in Aust. imo for interference around the 1st turn.

First look at the track and trust me the trainer now understands he should of trialled his dogs there before nominating them.

yeah I know Geoff, cant say Ive had a dog of mine run off the track when its 4 lengths in front though!

Its also my first go at posting on Youtube, quite proud of myself that I worked it out!

Keep the faith in the Boy i really do think with more experience he will do extremely well over the short distances. to lead like he did from box 8 at Pirie he should handle just about any other box at any track.

drew box 8 at pirie - which it needed.

stayed wide and avoided a lot of interference on its inside

mustered good pace to lead heading round the first bend into the back straight and looking good in front by a few lengths

only concern was that it didnt close down to the rail

approaching the home turn it just slows down for whatever reason, a few other dogs rail up inside it, which wasnt hard given it was on the outside fence at this stage

but it battled on well in the straight to run 3rd

now thats my memory from seeing it on sunday, i havent had a chance to view the replay.

look at the youtube vision MT!!!

it was 4 lengths in front, and veered right off the track letting 2 dogs rail under it....the race was in its keeping prior to that

no doubt it was going to be right in the finish

He won the previous start over 400m+ at Port Augusta he wasnt tired he just got lost.

Although he has recieved 21 days stand down for injury and a satisfactory trial.

Remember this dog has placed over 500m in QLD but hasnt been the same since having 5 starts in 14 days HENCE the reason we bought him home to SA. He has just turned 2yo and is still young and experienced.

WOW the million $$ question.

This boy has never been a mad railer for some reason. My dog AWESOME RYLES used to be the same up until he had about 20 odd races then all of a sudden one race he just kept hugging the rail and has done it ever since.

REMEMBER SANDY is the keenest ive ever seen having broken a lure right of a cable during break in and giving him finish ons is an experience you need to witness to believe. He has never seen the Port Pirie track before and he looks as though he got lost as did the trainers next runner in the very next race NATS HAVOCAM who was also leading until doing the same thing at the same point on the track. Although both dogs definitely looked over that outside fence as of they seen something. Another dog in a different race DAKKIAH also done the same thing. Making it 3 dogs in 3 different races looking over the outside fence at the same part of the track.

Back to the original question: NOONE can answer it positively all dogs are different.

Just happened again, race 3. The favourite no.4 Susan's Choice a clear leader stopped dead coming around the last bend, didn't place. WTF?!

I have seen worse.
backed a dog one day, it was paying about $5 and was leading by 10-15 lengths with about 200 to go. I started to walk to collect and the dog started to pull up with a back leg muscle injury, was still in front by 5 with 50 to go and didnt even place.
