What times are the better horses going to go this weekend if todays times are any guide. They had a CO/C1 over 1609m and ran a 1.56.3
with a 55.4 first half a, CO/C1 over 2300m and ran a last half of 55.7, and a C1/C2 over 1609m and ran a 1.55.8 finishing it off in a 56.4 last half. It appears to me thats it difficult to make good ground from the back and it will take time for drivers to work out the track. Is it possible that the Australasia's quickest mile rate gets smashed this Sunday in race 8 especially with Smoken up drawn in gate 1???

The Darren Hancock trained 3yo Vegas Bound just went 1.53.8 for the 1609m and was having its second start.

Read somewhere that 1.50 will be broken on sunday which would then prove that those sub 1.50 rates they've been going in the USA for years are no big deal.

Correct JJ as some of those tracks in the US are a mile track as well

I'm tipping the 1.50 mark is a chance of beening broken sunday.
With D Graham in the race on spirit of shark the speed will be on. He let it run from the start the other tuesday at Albion Park and it ran 1.53.9, just .6 outside track record which was set when inter was last held there.
Would they go quickier if they had the wheels on?
Or the American bikes?

Mick Laird said the wheels make a massive difference.

Im sure Thorate ran 1:53 and change at Albion park many years ago, and the track was a bit smaller then too

Thorate ran 1.53.8 in 1989, then Pocket Me ran 1.53.6 during inter in 2001.
Home of Jack holds 1.53.3 track record set in 2005.
Only change was they put pegs in which made track little bigger.

I think if they had the new wheels and the same bikes in the US and the way they race over there the 1.52.8 rate set by Pay Me Christian gets smashed.

Wheels won't make a difference to Micks drives/team!!!!!!!!
