Centrebet have the odds at Lakers $2.50 Celtics $1.54 but have the lines mixed up with Lakers -6.5 @ $2.10 and Celts +2.5 @ $2.10
No doubt they will feel the need to cancel bets as they have stuffed up but I say we get a bit on it and really p*ss them off!!

Interesting that one then, as I only had $20 in my account at the time I put that on and they still haven't cancelled my bet. Be interesting to see if they just pick and choose between what amounts they cancel here!
Surely if you put a large bet on an incorrect team this would give you grounds to have that cancelled? We have to make sure that the bet is correct at the time of placing why should they not follow the same rules??

And it's things like this that make me not bet with Centrebet.
If they put up the wrong line = their problem....
You can't cancel a bet because you put it on wrong, so why should they cancel a bet because they got the line wrong - Centrebet are a JOKE!!!
Also their odds are no where near as good as what they were 3-4 years ago (betting a good 3 - 4% higher on their sporting books)

same time they became a listed company and looking after shareholders became their No. 1 priority.....They listed the Company at $2.00, I see today they are $1.30....they used to be a big fish in a small market...not so anymore..
You can now get $1.95 lines on AFL, they still have $1.91....small example
I only still use them as their Prop bets are offered where other bookies dont, also they offer a good service on the NBL

Main reason I use them is as I don't have a big enough bankroll to spread around and they do offer a decent variety of sports on offer but it's things like this that make you think twice.

Yep, I agree totally - this is why I stopped betting with them a few years ago too.
In theory, they could decide that any of their odds were a mistake and cancel bets at any stage, and you would have no leg to stand on as it is written in their rules. In the meantime, you may have laid off the bet and suddenly have a high risk of a substantial loss.

Surely there is legal standing on that? Once the bet is accepted at your end you can't cancel it if you picked the wrong option why should they be able to? They're in control of what they put up. Another thing is what happens if they cancel it and you missed out on better revised odds elsewhere? I know it's been said before but poor form.
Does anyone know if it has happened with any other online books?

Only one I can think of is sportsbet who put up $3.20 for North against South last year...I know they got hammered by quite a few on here and after adjusting their market North started $1.40....if they have this rule they could have enfoced it and refunded the bets but they didnt, honoured the bet and lost thousands but good on them...
They also made the mistake of taking bets on a tennis match last year that had already started, still paid up
still think it might have been a clever marketing ploy!

Whether it was a ploy or not they honoured their bets which is the way it should be.

fairly disappointing that Centrebet have a rule like this, it obviously shows that the company are not 100% confident in there staff putting up the correct odds.
Mind you ive never had an issue with them and until i do I keep going, but i cant blame anyone who stops betting with them because they get screwed over by that rule.

With my knowledge of law (am studying intro to law atm haha) this case is known as bilateral mistake (1 party takes advantage of another party) and the contract never existed. Tonite went to make a bet at tab and accidently made a mistake and put france to be 3-1 against italy at half time @ $67, you only get 5 minutes to refund your bet

Just checked my account and they have refunded the bet, no acknowledgement email though, just the money back in my account. More bad customer service as I'd be dark if I didn't know, watched the game thinking I'd won, only to find out I didn't have a bet on.
If what you say about the law is true, then surely we can turn around at any time and say they took advantage of us because we didn't want to put a bet on it was a mistake?
For the record it took them 12 hours to cancel it and yet we get no chance at all to cancel it? I could understand that if they cancel it within an hour of it being put on fair enough but 12 hours?

I left Centrebet many years ago after they completely screwed me over, sent complaining emails and none were replied to, and I'd been a customer of there's for over 10 years.
Only good to come out of it was I then discovered sportsbet.com.au who I couldn't be more pleased with, they are eons ahead of Centrebet.
