Winx is $4 for 2017 Cox Plate.

Whoever took the $4 winx by 2 or more lengths had no issues

Another losing day @ Mooney Valley

Winx was awesome - 8 lengths & not touched!

We live to fight another week on the punt!

I've never been a fan of having the 2 meetings in 2 days.
They are better off merging the 2 meetings and having a day nighter

So having a discussion on Facebook regarding Hartnell - Melbourne Cup

On yesterday race I cant see Hartnell winning the Cup.
Then someone asks about remembering Green Moon in the Cox Plate before he won the Cup.
Well I do and Green Moon (a horse I hated) went quicker than Hartnell on a similar track...

Australian Mainstream Media;
Please stop comparing Winx to Black Caviar! They are DIFFERENT Horses FFS!
One was a Sprinter beyond compare, the other a Middle Distance Champion.
Comparing Apples with Oranges.
Winx v Sunline? Yes.
Winx v Makybe Diva? Perhaps.
Winx v Black Caviar? No Way!

FWIW, MT, I agree - don't think Hartnell can win the Cup.

As far as Caufield Cup runs go, thought Vengeur Masque has slipped under the radar and they've decided to chance their arms in regards to not running it in the Lexus next Saturday on the hope that it will get in on order of entry anyway, which i think is a smart move

Last year i backed The United States in the cup off the back of its run at Moonee Valley where it ran past a tiring Prince of Penzance. And that stood for nothing come Cup day. But I have to admit you would be hard pressed picking Hartnell on the back of that run. Not disgraced against Winx but just doesn't look like it can get the 3200.

First thing I thought. He looked like he was carrying twice the weight. Winx farted in his general direction

Hartnell, bloody thing, looked well set for the Cup but didn't really front up on Saturday. Mind you, it did look the best of the rest as none of the others really made ground on it and Winx had it off the bit on the turn, well before it wanted to be flat strap. The last bit the most pressing for mine, when Winx wheeled up around it, it had to go, but that was with 400 to run and Winx just ran away.

Still in the Cup IMO.

My view is that if it was to win the Cup it's Cox Plate run needed more conviction to me. I thought Vadamoss or whatever the name of the French thing was, was a equally impressive run as Hartnell, however they both won't be in the Cup.
Hartnell was ridden poorly if they were trying to win, it's almost as if they were happy with 2nd.
