Didn't see it but heard it got boxed in, got out late and thundered home to lose half a length. Ffs.

Should have roved it.

The Jabiru was a rover type of horse, so is this guy.

I did try and help by suggesting the Rover earlier in the thread......

And the Jabber doesn't have a pen through it and neither will the Indian.

The Jabber hasn't run a drum for some time...

It ran 4th last start, first time in top 4 for a long time.

My point being, that the Jabber was never a horse to standout to win and the Indian is in the same boat

Still ran 4th........

And it was second fav at $3.60. And I missed seeing the people's horse last start

When the Jabber was in form I would take it in this and FF
I would take FFs with most units being on it for 3rd/4th/2nd

2 weeks left of the Sydney Carnival...
Hopefully a couple of winners to pick up 8)

ATC Oaks - really like Honesta @ the price ($11 & $3.50 on Ladbrokes) poor ol' Jameka hasn't drawn a Gate the whole Carnival.

Sydney Cup - think last year's winner Grand Marshal is under the odds but any rain will see him very hard to beat. Libran has run well in winning last 3 starts but I thought he looked at the 'end of his tether' at the end of the 2600m race last week - he's a risk IMHO. Have been waiting for Almoonqith to do something & hasn't fired, is tomorrow the day? I would want $10 minimum & the $8.50 on offer with Ladbrokes is a bit too skinny @ this stage - wait & see I think. Who Shot the Barman was unlucky last year, maybe this is his time?

Queen of the Turf - tricky race IMHO. Azkadellia looks the one on paper. I like Badawiya @ the price Eachway but I think that price reflects the bad gate, so not taking her. I think Risque is the bet @ $9 & $3 - looks like a 'Mile Specialist' to me, Soft Track is no issue & good gate, the query is the Jockey, this way of going. Another one might be the Waller runner Lady Le Fay - great distance record. Backing Risque 1 x 3 plus Box Trifecta: 1,3,4,5,14,16

Queen Liz - Preferment has been outstanding this Autumn, in both States! Can he do it again? Probably! The Caulfield Cup winner has been very disappointing & Criterion has looked 'dower' this time in. Happy Clapper was a huge run last week behind the 'Great Mare' (I used to only use that term for Sunline & Let's Elope, but Winx is worthy of equal 'billing' now IMHO, as her record is comparable), but he had a big weight drop & is now back @ WFA, so I can't have him for that reason alone.
Not a lot of 'value' around but there has been money for Rising Romance & @ the price ($26 & $5.40 with Ladbrokes) I am prepared to gamble on her. The thing is; Hayes would've trained both Criterion & her to the minute for this race. Criterion is the better animal IMHO but as I said he's been a bit dower in his runs. Her run in Melbourne was pretty good to run 3rd in the Australian Cup. I know Awesome Rock beat her in 'winning' the race but she's had the run in Sydney & also gets a good gate. Those odds are too juicy to pass up, she'll do me 1 x 4.
Box Trifecta & Box Pick 4: 1,2,5,14

It appears that I have tipped Hayes to have a big day which is always fraught with danger in Sydney, with Waller so dominant but maybe we'll be lucky.

Enjoy the Day Lads :D

LPH's wrap pretty much mirrors my thoughts - Libran has been fantastic this campaign but really did look to be labouring when the whips were cracking last start. I've backed Rising Romance too, even though Im not confident. Is always thereabouts but always seems to find a couple that are better. Also like Ghisoni as an EW chance in the sprint.
