Not sure. Whobe will be very hard to beat....

I'll be laying Whobe.... Goes up in the weights & I'd be wary they set him for a big first-up performance which might've taxed him...

Lads, past the 2 that have already been mentioned, can I have thoughts on the following for the Stradbroke:

1. Mic Mac
2. Ortensia
3. Catapulted
4. Beaded
5. Graceful Anna
6. Anything that anyone perceives as a good value bet in the race

1. Massive value, and is the pick of the weights. Gets a huge weight relief (3kg) on Whobe after being beaten by just 0.5 length to him in the Dommben 10,000. Might have a task from the wide gate, but massive, massive chance.
2. Gets Williams back on board. She just runs for him. Will be my pick. Gets tonnes of speed on up front early, which should be perfect.
3. Have a bit on him @ $61 last month so would be happy to see him get up, But quite frankly, not sure he's up to yet it.
4. Rarely runs a bad race, but there's so much talent in this field that I've got to leave him out. Could improve on 2nd Qld run.
5. Lightweight chance, and ridden a bit closer WILL be in the first 4 IMO. Three 3yo fillies have won the race in the last 12 years, and I think Graceful Anna is as good, if not better than all of them.
6. Sportingbet have Shellscrape @ $41, I'll have some of that.

Would be surprised if the winner didn't come from - Latin News, Ortensia, Mic Mac, Graceful Anna, Melito and can't discount Whobe (Even though I'll be laying him at those odds).

In the Brisbane Cup, $12 is on offer for Baughurst. His run in the Eagle Farm Cup last week was big. Hit the line hard and was the blackbook run of the weekend for mine. Has topweight and backing up again, but is a tough, tough stayer and holds his form strongly.

IMHO Rothesay in the last is the tip of the day at Eagle Farm.

Was paying $2.30 on fixed odds last time I checked.

Also, Tabulate in the 2400m prior to the G1 2400 is a good each way bet.
This horse has a ton of guts and is always underestimated and it has Katsidis on board which I'd say is great but usual rider is Jim Byrne so I hope it hasn't been changed for sake of it as i'd prefer Byrne on it to any other jockey in the country.

IMHO Ortensia is the value tip. Hasn't been in great form but had excuses 2nd start back and think Bowman made poor choices in last start.

Get on it fixed odds each way with it's preferred jockey Craig Williams back from Japan.

Whobe really seems to struggle when the pressure comes on - couldn't handle it today and really struggled in the Cox Plate. Doesn't seem to like the big races with the big fields.

In this mornings paper, someone (I think Rodd) mentioned that WhoBe "always rides for luck" .. For such a champion horse I found that a bit of a concerning statement.

Wouldn't of been ridden for luck, the way it races it needs a bit of luck to win... Coming from the back you always need a bit of luck...

Thought Mic Mac had 'em with 50m to go.
Was massively over the odds considering he had 3kg less than his last encounter with Whobegotyou when only beaten half a length....

Bit harsh..... Probably couldn't handle it Saturday because its leg had been hacked up after being galloped on early....

Becoming a costly one to follow though that is for sure....
